Its production pattern is similar to Camarosa although it starts to fruit earlier, especially in early autumn plantings.

Slightly darker colour than Ventana, both inside and outside.
Post-harvest trials showed a longer shelf life for Benicia than for Ventana, making it particularly suitable for the export market.
Fruit flavour is quite better than Ventana and Camarosa, particularly in early harvests.
Resistant to diseases, especially anthracnose and Phytophthora cactorum.
Tolerant to Oidium and spider mite.
With a good plant health management at the nursery, it is quite a resistant variety.
